Restored 2025

Piney Branch Stream Valley Park

Welcome to the trail system home page. For many years, the trails in the park throughout the neighborhood were covered up by Mother Nature. In 2025, the system was cleaned up and restored to its pre-1990s condition.

Trail FAQs

When are the trails open?
The park is open dawn to dusk, year-round. After heavy rain, expect mud and higher stream crossings on the Blue trail.
How do I follow the trails?
Each trail is color-blazed throughout — follow the painted markers for your color. The Blue (Skunk Cabbage) trail is the spine of the system; the shorter loops branch off of it.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes — leashed, please. Bring bags and pack out what your pup leaves behind.
What about the private property sections?
Portions of the Blue trail and two trailheads (Village Dr and Larry Rd) cross private property with the owners' permission. Stay on the marked trail, keep noise down, and be a good neighbor so this access stays open.
Are the stream crossings safe?
When water is running, the Blue trail has a few crossings — rock-hop with care, and skip them after major storms. Kids should cross with an adult.
Who maintains the trails?
Neighbors, mostly! The system was restored by volunteers in 2025. Want to help with cleanups or invasive plant removal? Get in touch — there's an active Invasive Management Area restoration effort in the park.

Nature walks & invasive plant education

Guided botanical walks and invasive plant sessions happen seasonally in the park — including at the county-recognized Invasive Management Area restored by a Brentwood neighbor.
